Just to give you an insight into The work that we do
Hopefully, these general reports give you firstly an idea of our ever-changing work. Secondly, they show the trends that are affecting all businesses across many different industries.
The main focus of our work over the last three months has been on personal finances which have been under considerable strain over the course of the last year or so.
 It may on the face of it seem that it’s simply a matter of refining what the client has to do with the income they have and the outgoings that matter. However, that is just the surface issue, the constant worry when someone is struggling with finances affects every part of their lives. Initially they may keep the problem from their partner, they may resort to using credit to make up the shortfall in income to cover the excessive outgoings. As the problem persists, they may get a feeling of lack of control in their lives and a lack of purpose as the situation gets worse.
With these issues comes anxiety caused by not knowing how to deal with the problem. This may then lead onto the clients’ relationships being affected not only with their partner but with their children, parents and other relatives.
If this situation persists the client's mental health will eventually suffer, whether the effects of this may come out in bursts of anger or the other extreme self-harming it all depends on the individual's own make up. The deterioration in the client’s mental health is generally when they turn for help. The finances can be sorted quite easily. The effect of the stress and strain on the individual takes a lot longer to rectify. This is something that has affected individuals from all professions and all industries.
As we move to the summer month’s we hope these issues will ease and those that have contacted us about debt and finances will begin to see the benefit of addressing these things early instead of just leaving them to one side which simply makes things worse.
We are not taught in schools how to deal with finances in the real work world and it does show when things begin to go wrong. Let’s hope future generations are beginning with a better start than previous ones.
